Philosophy and Procedure

 

PHILOSOPHY

We at St. Michael School, strongly feel that the involvement of the parents in the school program strengthens and enriches the over-all goals of the school.  Parent Organizations are essential for the special services they contribute.  The Room Parents Organization in the school is a supportive service for those who feel the need for such service.  Certain basic policies are needed in order to make their contribution productive.

 

ROOM PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES 

  •  Work together with the teachers and administration for special events.
  •  Review E-Mails and attend meetings.
  •  Assist with special duties the teacher may assign to you.
  •  Schedule parents to work the festival.
  •  If possible, attend and assist during school field trips and activities.
  •  Obtain permission from the Principal, ahead of time, if you need to visit your respective  classroom.
  •  Obtain permission from the Principal before making any type of money collection.
  •  Forward on to the Principal any concerns and/or constructive comments.

 STRENGTHS OF THE PROGRAM

  • To establish avenues of communication between parents and teachers.
  •  Realize that a teacher is a valuable person and sincerely interested in your children.
  • To create a positive image between parents, teachers and students.

 STRENGTHS TO APPLY 

  • Maintain a respectful relationship with teachers and administration.
  •  Follow school policies to set an example for other parents (for example: field trips).
